Jessic Ngankam edges closer to comeback for Eintracht Frankfurt
Eintracht Frankfurt striker Jessic Ngankam is making encouraging progress in his recovery from a thigh injury suffered almost two months ago.
Although he has not yet returned to full team training, the 26-year-old is working on the pitch and has resumed ball-based exercises during the international break.
With many Frankfurt players away on international duty, Ngankam is among the remaining senior professionals continuing their rehabilitation at the club’s training ground. The next phase will be rejoining group sessions, but the club is taking a measured approach to avoid a setback.
Ngankam’s career has already included several moves aimed at securing regular football. In July 2021, he joined Greuther Fürth on loan, scoring twice in six league appearances before returning to Hertha BSC in June 2022. Frankfurt signed him for a reported €4 million in July 2023 on a contract running until 2028.
He later spent the second half of the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Mainz, followed by a season-long loan at Hannover 96 from July 2024 to June 2025. His current recovery delays another chance to establish himself in Frankfurt’s attack, but his return to individual field work is a positive step.
