Jesse Bisiwu joins Barcelona Atletic: Belgium-Ghana winger completes Club NXT switch

Belgium-Ghana winger Jesse Bisiwu has joined Barca Atletic from Club NXT, completing a move from Belgium’s Challenger Pro League to Spain’s Segunda Federacion.

The 18-year-old operates primarily on the left wing and favours his right foot. Born on 22 January 2008, Bisiwu stands 1.85m tall and arrives at the Barcelona-based side after three seasons with Club NXT.

Bisiwu made 36 appearances in the Challenger Pro League, scoring twice and providing two assists. He played 1,562 minutes in the competition, with his goals coming at a rate of one every 781 minutes.

He also featured in the UEFA Youth League, making 14 appearances and scoring three goals, while contributing one assist. His record in that competition amounted to 919 minutes, with a goal every 306 minutes.

The move marks Bisiwu’s first recorded switch outside Belgium. He joined Club NXT from Club Brugge’s youth setup on 1 July 2023, having previously spent time in the academy at OH Leuven.

Bisiwu moved from OH Leuven’s youth system to Club Brugge’s academy in July 2020 on a free transfer. His progression through those Belgian youth structures preceded his senior-level experience with Club NXT in the Challenger Pro League.

At Barca Atletic, he joins a side competing in Group II of Spain’s Segunda Federacion. The club is the senior development team associated with FC Barcelona, while the competition represents a change of country and league for the teenager.

Bisiwu’s career record includes 54 appearances across the Challenger Pro League and UEFA Youth League, with five goals and three assists. He has also played in Belgian U18 competitions, featuring in five matches and completing 377 minutes across the regular U18 Elite 1 competition and its play-offs.

The transfer was completed on 31 July 2026, and Bisiwu’s contract with Barca Atletic runs until 30 June 2031.
