Jerry Alex: Nigerian striker joins Kwara United from Rangers in NPFL move

Kwara United have added Nigerian centre-forward Jerry Alex to their attack after the 23-year-old completed a move from Rangers. The deal keeps Alex in the Nigeria Premier Football League, where he arrives with recent title-winning experience.

Alex, a 1.85m right-footed striker, joins Kwara United shortly after helping Rangers secure the Nigerian championship in the 2025-26 season. He moves with a current market value of €25,000, reflecting his rise over the past two campaigns in the top flight.

The forward only signed for Rangers in August 2025, stepping up after a spell with Kano Pillars. His impact in Enugu coincided with the club’s push to the league crown, adding weight to Kwara United’s decision to bring him in ahead of the new campaign.

Before his time at Rangers, Alex’s career included moves between Nigerian and Maltese clubs. He left Bayelsa for Mosta FC in August 2024 and later switched to Senglea Athletic, returning to Nigeria with Kano Pillars in January 2025. That run of transfers has given him experience in contrasting environments despite his relatively young age.

Born on 19 November 2002, Alex now faces a new challenge as he leads the line for Kwara United, who will look to draw on his physical presence and top-flight know-how. The move was completed on 23 July 2026, confirming his switch within the NPFL.
