Jerry Afriyie transfer: Genk linked with Al-Qadsiah centre-forward
Ghana forward Jerry Afriyie, currently with Saudi Pro League club Al-Qadsiah, has been linked with a move to Belgian side Genk.
The 19-year-old centre-forward is contracted to Al-Qadsiah until 30 June 2028, meaning any transfer would involve discussions between the two clubs rather than a free move. Afriyie is valued at €1.2m.
Afriyie joined Al-Qadsiah on 23 January 2025 and is registered with the club’s senior side. The proposed move would take him from the Saudi Pro League to Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League, with Genk identified as the interested club.
Born in Sunyani, Ghana, Afriyie stands 1.80m tall and favours his right foot. His primary position is centre-forward.
The reported interest comes with the player still tied to Al-Qadsiah for almost two more years beyond the current 2026-27 season. No transfer fee or agreement has been disclosed, and the link remains a rumour rather than a confirmed move.
Afriyie’s current contractual situation gives Al-Qadsiah control over his immediate future, while Genk’s reported interest places the Ghanaian forward among the club’s potential attacking options.
