Montpellier forward Jerome Adams has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Italian giants AC Milan, insisting that the rumours have not distracted him from his focus on improving as a player.
Adams, who impressed in his debut season in Ligue 1, scored eight goals in 32 league appearances for Montpellier last term, attracting attention from clubs across Europe.
Reports emerged suggesting that AC Milan had sent scouts to watch the 24-year-old Nigerian forward in action, fueling further transfer talk.
However, Adams has maintained that he remained unaffected by the media speculation.
I didn’t pay so much attention to it because I was just coming into the French Ligue and it could go either way, be it good or bad,” he said. “But I was very positive and focused on training, learning, and just doing my job, which is scoring for the team.”
The forward explained that, while the interest from a club like AC Milan was flattering, he viewed it as motivation rather than pressure.
When you get a team like AC Milan watching you, for me, I see it as an incentive, not a pressure; it is to know my football is being developed in the right direction,” he added.
Adams’ response to the rumours highlights his calm and professional approach to the transfer speculation, as he continues to focus on his development and performance for Montpellier.
