Jeremy Doku paid tribute to Ghanaian football icon Asamoah Gyan by mimicking the veteran striker’s signature celebration during Wednesday night’s Premier League match.
The Belgian-born Ghanaian helped Manchester City secure a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest, marking the team’s first victory since October.
After a difficult stretch that included six losses and one draw in their last seven matches, City began December on a positive note, energizing the home fans at the Etihad Stadium.
The team quickly established a 2-0 lead within the first 31 minutes, and Doku capped off the evening with a goal in the second half.
In a video that circulated on social media, Doku can be seen performing Gyan’s iconic celebration, stirring nostalgia for the celebrated player known for his exuberant post-goal dances.
Gyan is regarded as one of Ghana’s greatest footballers, and Doku’s homage served as a meaningful acknowledgment of the striker’s enduring influence.
Doku, who had come off the bench against Liverpool on Sunday, made a significant impact in this match, not only scoring but also assisting the second goal.
