Jeremy Doku hails unbelievable Man City FA Cup run
Jeremy Doku admits Manchester City’s latest FA Cup achievement has barely sunk in after the holders reached a record fourth consecutive final with a comeback win over Southampton.
The Belgian-Ghanaian winger scored the crucial equaliser in the 2–1 semi-final victory, sparking the turnaround that booked another Wembley trip.
“I think we as a squad don’t realise what we are doing – fourth time in a row, it’s unbelievable. Fair play to everyone in the club. Every year being there after playing against good teams but still reaching the final every time. Now we want to win. I’ve not won it yet and it’s something I want to win. It’s something special,” he said, stressing that simply reaching the showpiece is no longer enough.
Doku joined City in 2023, after their FA Cup triumph over Manchester United, and has since endured back-to-back final defeats to United in 2024 and Crystal Palace in 2025. Alongside their cup run, City remain locked in a tight Premier League title race, three points behind Arsenal with a game in hand.
“We know we have the squad to do it. It depends on us – it’s in our hands. We have to play well and focus on ourselves,” Doku added, underlining the squad’s belief as they chase another historic season.
