Liverpool are reportedly on the verge of signing Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong, with the Dutch international said to have given his approval for a move to Anfield. According to Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the transfer would represent a significant acquisition as Liverpool aim to strengthen their defensive options.

Frimpong, widely regarded as one of Europe’s premier full-backs, has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga.

Known for his attacking flair and defensive solidity, the Ghanaian-born player has drawn the attention of several top clubs, but Liverpool appear to be leading the race.

The 22-year-old has reportedly expressed enthusiasm about joining the Premier League giants, and positive discussions between the two clubs have accelerated negotiations.

Bayer Leverkusen, aware of Frimpong’s growing value, have set his price at €60 million, a figure Liverpool are reportedly willing to meet to secure the player.

Frimpong’s arrival would align with Liverpool’s evolving tactical approach. With Trent Alexander-Arnold increasingly deployed in a hybrid midfield role, Frimpong’s pace, versatility, and energy could provide the Reds with additional options on the right flank.

His attacking contributions and defensive discipline make him an ideal fit for Liverpool’s system under Arne Slot.

While the transfer is not yet finalized, reports suggest the deal is progressing smoothly, allowing Liverpool supporters to anticipate seeing Frimpong don the famous red jersey.

If completed, the move would bolster Liverpool’s defensive depth and provide a significant boost to their Premier League and European aspirations.

At just 22 years old, Frimpong’s potential and experience at Bayer Leverkusen position him as a key investment for Liverpool’s future.

The signing would underline the club’s ambition to remain competitive at the highest levels of football.
