Jeremie Frimpong finds perspective amid Liverpool struggles

Jeremie Frimpong has opened up about the emotional side of Liverpool’s difficult season, insisting setbacks must be seen as part of a longer journey rather than a definitive failure.

The midfielder, who has battled both form and fitness issues, says he has drawn strength from the mindset of NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

“You can’t win everything all the time. Sometimes you have to go through these situations to build again,” Frimpong explained, referencing Antetokounmpo’s famous comments after a painful playoff exit. That message has helped him process Liverpool’s own disappointments and the feeling that standards have not been met across the campaign.

“Nobody likes to lose. You go into the dressing room here and you look around at what it’s like: everyone hates losing,” he stressed, describing the mood after defeats.

“But this is what I’m going back to, the point Giannis makes: no season is a fail. When you lose, the feeling is so bad, there’s no other way of saying it. But it’s steps.” For Frimpong, those “steps” are about learning, regrouping, and using this bruising year as fuel to come back stronger with Liverpool next season.
