Jeremie Bela joins ASIL Lysi after year as a free agent

Angola-France winger Jeremie Bela has joined Cypriot club ASIL Lysi as a free agent, signing a contract that runs until 31 May 2027.

The 33-year-old left-sided attacker moves to the 2. Division side after most recently being registered with Omonia 29th May. Bela had been without a club since leaving the Cypriot team in July 2025, before completing his move to ASIL Lysi on 21 August 2026.

Bela primarily plays as a left winger and is right-footed. Born in Melun, France, he has represented both Angola and France as his nationalities. He stands 1.73m tall and brings experience from clubs in England, France, Spain and Cyprus.

His previous spell in Cyprus began in September 2024, when he joined Omonia 29th May as a free agent. Before that, he spent two seasons with Clermont Foot, also arriving as a free transfer from Birmingham in August 2022.

Bela’s career has included 96 Championship appearances, during which he scored seven goals and provided 18 assists. He also recorded 77 appearances and 11 goals in Ligue 2, while his time in Spain’s LaLiga2 produced 16 goals in 67 matches.

His strongest scoring record in the figures available came in France’s National 1, where he scored 14 times in 54 appearances. He also found the net 16 times across 67 LaLiga2 matches and scored three goals in 10 Coupe de France appearances.

The winger began his senior club career with RC Lens B before moving into the Lens first team in January 2014. He subsequently played for Dijon, Albacete, Birmingham and Clermont Foot, with his move from Dijon to Albacete and his later switch from Birmingham to Clermont both completed without a transfer fee.

Bela’s record also includes 45 Ligue 1 appearances, as well as matches in the FA Cup, EFL Cup, Copa del Rey and Cypriot competitions. In Cyprus, he has made 19 league appearances and scored once, with one assist recorded.

Bela has now completed his move to ASIL Lysi on a contract ending in May 2027.
