Jephte Kitambala: DR Congo Striker Linked with RS Berkane Move from Azam FC

DR Congo centre-forward Jephte Kitambala is being linked with a move from Tanzanian side Azam FC to Moroccan club RS Berkane in the Botola Pro Inwi as the summer window gathers pace.

The 27-year-old, who has been leading the line for Azam, is understood to be on the radar of Berkane as the Moroccan outfit look to reinforce their attacking options ahead of the new campaign. Talks are not believed to be at an advanced stage, but the interest is described as concrete, with Berkane exploring the conditions of a potential deal.

Kitambala is under contract with Azam until 30 June 2026, a factor that would likely require any suitor to negotiate with the Tanzanian club rather than wait for a free transfer further down the line. His contractual situation gives Azam a strong position as they weigh up whether to cash in or keep one of their key forwards for the coming seasons.

A move to Berkane would represent a step into North African football for the DR Congo attacker, who has been operating in East Africas domestic scene with Azam. The Moroccan side, regular competitors at the top end of the Botola Pro Inwi, have been active in recent windows in seeking players from across the continent.

For now, Kitambala remains an Azam player with two years left on his deal, and the Tanzanian club hold the final say over whether the DR Congo international is allowed to open a new chapter in Morocco.
