Jean Charles Ahoua: Ivory Coast midfielder leaves CR Belouizdad as free agent
Jean Charles Ahoua, the Ivorian attacking midfielder, has left Algerian champions CR Belouizdad to become a free agent. The 24-year-olds departure has been confirmed after his spell in Ligue 1 came to an end on 9 July 2026.
Ahoua, who operates primarily as an attacking midfielder and favours his right foot, is now without a club following his exit from Belouizdad. The move comes with his market value currently assessed at around 250,000, underlining his growing profile after consecutive seasons of continental football.
The midfielder joined CR Belouizdad in January 2026 from Tanzanian side Simba SC in a deal worth 275,000, having first moved outside his homeland when he signed for Simba from Ivorian outfit Stella Club in July 2024 for the same fee. His rise began in the Ivorian domestic scene, progressing from LYS Sassandra to Sewe Sports before earning a switch to Stella.
Ahoua has built up significant experience in African club competitions, registering appearances and goals in both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, as well as featuring in domestic top-flight action in Algeria and earlier in his career. Standing at 1.73m and born in Zikisso, he has combined creativity with a goal threat from midfield across those campaigns.
Ahouas departure from CR Belouizdad formally closes a chapter that has taken him from Ivorian football to Tanzania and on to Algeria, with the Ivorian now officially a free agent after leaving the Ligue 1 club.
