Jay Enem: Frosinone eye move for Red Star and Nigeria-born Dutch striker

Netherlands-Nigeria forward Jay Enem, currently at Serbian champions Red Star, is being linked with a move to Serie A side Frosinone. The 23-year-old centre-forward, who was born in Amsterdam and stands at 1.95m, has emerged as a potential attacking option for the Italian club as they look to strengthen their squad for the new campaign.

Enem only returned to Red Star permanently this summer, signing from OFK Beograd on 1 July 2026 for a reported €2m fee after a successful loan spell. He is under contract in Belgrade until 30 June 2029, a deal that gives Red Star a strong negotiating position should Frosinone decide to formalise their interest. His current market valuation is €4.5m.

The striker has made a single appearance so far this season, coming off the bench in Red Star’s Champions League qualifying campaign, but has yet to feature in the Super Liga. Despite limited early-season minutes, he heads into 2026-27 on the back of a domestic double, having helped Red Star to the Serbian league title and cup in 2025-26.

Enem’s route to Belgrade has taken him from youth football at AZ Alkmaar and Ajax through a spell in Italy with Venezia and a series of loans, before establishing himself in Serbia with OFK Beograd and then Red Star. With a long-term contract and recent silverware behind him, any move to Frosinone would likely require a significant offer to persuade Red Star to part with their No 9.
