Jason Denayer Set for Loan Move to Olympique de Marseille
As reported earlier, Jason Denayer, the Belgian international defender from Manchester City, is on the verge of joining Olympique de Marseille. The Red Devil has been a target for the French club and could be arriving in Marseille before the transfer window closes.
L’Équipe confirmed that Denayer arrived in Marseille on Tuesday evening, after previously visiting Galatasaray, a club he had also negotiated with. The Manchester City defender, who has Congolese roots, is now set to meet with Marseille’s management and tour the Vieux Port club’s facilities.
Denayer, who spent time on loan at Celtic, is looking for a move away from Manchester City, where he finds himself blocked by established defenders like Nicolás Otamendi, Eliaquim Mangala, and Martin Demichelis.
The Belgian defender will travel to the Robert-Louis-Dreyfus training center to meet with new Marseille coach Michel and discuss the potential loan deal. Denayer is expected to make a final decision on his loan destination after meeting with the coach.
This move would bolster Marseille’s defensive options for the current season as they aim for a better finish in Ligue 1.
