Jaraaf secures first CAF Cup win with late goal against Orapa United

Jaraaf Dakar earned their first victory in the CAF Confederation Cup after defeating Orapa United 1-0 on Sunday, January 5.

The match, part of matchday four of the competition, saw the Senegalese club dominate proceedings, although they had to wait until the dying moments to claim all three points.

Despite firing 24 shots compared to Orapa United’s five, Jaraaf struggled to break down their opponents’ defense.

It was only in the 98th minute that Almamy Mathew Fall struck the decisive goal, sending the home crowd into jubilation.

The late winner was enough to give Jaraaf Dakar a crucial three points, pushing them up to five points in the standings.

However, they remain in third place, still tied on points with Asec Mimosas, who occupy second.

USM Alger continues to lead the group with 8 points after a 1-1 draw with Asec in the other match of the day.

This win marks a significant step forward for Jaraaf in the competition, offering them a fighting chance of progressing further as the group stage nears its conclusion.
