Jamie Leweling turns down Bournemouth as Stuttgart insist on keeping key midfielder

Jamie Leweling has once again turned down a move to AFC Bournemouth, with the VfB Stuttgart midfielder clearly unconvinced by the Premier League club’s latest attempt to sign him.

As reported by Kicker, Bournemouth recently made a fresh push to secure the 25‑year‑old, but their efforts ended unsuccessfully.

Bournemouth had already shown strong interest around the 2025/26 winter window, underlining how highly they rate Leweling. However, the new offer is described as not particularly attractive, and Leweling himself is not keen on a switch to the south coast of England.

His reluctance leaves Bournemouth looking elsewhere while reinforcing Stuttgart’s position. From VfB’s perspective, a departure is not a pressing issue anyway, with the Germany international under contract until 2029.

Head coach Sebastian Hoeneb is focused on keeping his squad together ahead of a demanding Champions League campaign. “We’re going into a Champions League season. We already learned two years ago how demanding that is. That’s why it will be important for us to have a very strong team at the start,” he recently explained, underscoring why key players like Leweling are considered “not for sale” for now.
