James Tenkorang: Ghana-Italian striker joins Trestina on free transfer from R. Monterotondo

Ghana-Italian forward James Tenkorang has joined Trestina on a free transfer from fellow Serie D side R. Monterotondo. The 26-year-old centre-forward has signed a deal running until 30 June 2027 with the club competing in Serie D Group E.

Tenkorang moves after a short spell at R. Monterotondo, whom he joined in December 2025, also on a free transfer. His switch continues a career built largely in Italy’s fourth tier, where he has accumulated extensive experience across several regional groups of Serie D.

Born in Novara and standing at 1.86m, Tenkorang offers a physical presence through the middle of the attack. Across his time in Serie D, he has passed 120 appearances in the competition and its play-offs and play-outs, scoring regularly at that level and adding a handful of assists.

His most productive league spells have included campaigns in Groups F and G of Serie D, where he has combined double‐digit goal returns with consistent minutes on the pitch. He has also found the net in the Coppa Italia Serie D and in relegation play-out matches, underlining his record in high-stakes fixtures.

Before his move to R. Monterotondo, Tenkorang represented Orvietana and FC Senigallia, having earlier turned out for clubs including San Marino and Livorno as he established himself in the Italian lower leagues. He has maintained a market value of €100,000 going into this latest move.

Tenkorang’s arrival on a free transfer adds an experienced central striking option to Trestina’s squad for the 2026-27 Serie D campaign, with his contract tying him to the club for at least one season.
