German midfielder of Nigerian descent, Jamal Musiala is set to miss Bayern Munich’s clash against Inter Milan in the Uefa Champions League this month.
The 22-year-old was forced off in the first half of Bayern Munich’s 3-1 win against Augsburg on Friday after appearing to clutch his left calf. Medical staff assisted him off the pitch, heightening concerns over his fitness ahead of the crucial European encounter.
Jamal Musiala’s injury adds to Bayern’s growing list of absentees and comes at a critical point in the season. The talented attacking midfielder has been a key figure in the squad, and his absence is expected to be a major setback.
Speaking after the match, Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, confirmed the fears surrounding Musiala’s condition.
“Jamal Musiala’s injury unfortunately doesn’t look good. Missing the Inter game next week? Yes,” Eberl told BILD.
Bayern will now turn to alternative options in midfield as they prepare to face Inter Milan without one of their most creative players.
