Jamal Musiala given boost as Bayern Munich star returns to training after collapse
Jamal Musiala has been given a positive medical update after the Bayern Munich midfielder returned to individual training following his dramatic collapse during a friendly against RB Leipzig.
The 23-year-old Germany international was forced to miss Monday’s open training session after suffering dizziness, circulatory problems and a high temperature following Bayern’s 3-1 victory over Leipzig on Saturday.
Musiala undergoes medical checks
Musiala’s collapse caused concern among Bayern supporters, particularly after the midfielder went down suddenly during the match in hot conditions in Munich, where temperatures rose above 30 degrees Celsius.
According to France 24, citing the German news agency, Musiala complained of dizziness and circulatory problems after the game and was also reported to have a high temperature.
The former Chelsea academy player returned to Bayern’s training headquarters on Tuesday, where he underwent detailed medical examinations before completing a light individual training session.
His return to the pitch provides an early indication that he could be on course for a full recovery.
Bayern hopeful over Super Cup return
German media reports suggest Musiala could rejoin Bayern’s group training later this week as he works towards being available for Saturday’s Super Cup meeting with Borussia Dortmund.
Bayern will be hoping the attacking midfielder can make a swift return, although his recovery will be monitored carefully following the latest incident.
Another setback after difficult year
The episode comes after a challenging period for Musiala, who missed the first six months of the 2025-26 season after suffering a broken ankle during the Club World Cup.
He eventually returned to action and represented Germany at the 2026 World Cup, where the four-time world champions were eliminated by Paraguay in the round of 32.
Musiala’s return to individual training therefore represents encouraging news for Bayern, with the club now waiting to see whether he can take the next step and rejoin his team-mates ahead of the new campaign.
