Jamal Alam, the President of the Egyptian Football Association, has revealed the reasons behind selecting Hossam Hassan as the head coach of the Egyptian national team, succeeding the Portuguese Roy Vitoria, and shed light on his relationship with Mohamed Salah.
In an interview with ON Time Sports 1 channel, Al-Am clarified the rationale behind choosing Hossam Hassan, stating, “We are part of the Egyptian people too.
We have highly competent Egyptian coaches, and by the public’s request, after they placed their trust in Hossam Hassan, we will support him until the end.”
Regarding Mohamed Salah’s relationship with Hossam Hassan, Al-Am remarked, “Mohamed Salah’s relationship with Hossam Hassan is very good.
The step of appointing Hossam Hassan took too long. When I sat down with the twins [Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan], I found that they have very ambitious goals they want to achieve.”
Furthermore, Al-Am clarified that they haven’t discussed the presence of a supervisor for the national team yet, stating, “Hossam Hassan is currently dealing with the Football Association, represented by its president.
The presence of a supervisor has not been officially addressed. It could be the president of the Football Association himself, or Captain Hazem Imam, or Mohamed Barakat who could be the direct supervisors.”
