Zamalek Appoints Portuguese Coach Jaime Pacheco
Zamalek SC has officially announced the appointment of Jaime Pacheco as their new head coach. The 56-year-old Portuguese tactician, known for his stints with Boavista and Rio Ave in Portugal, has signed a one-year deal with the Cairo-based club.
The appointment comes as something of a surprise. Just a week ago, the Zamalek Board of Directors released a shortlist of three potential candidates for the position — a list on which Pacheco did not appear. Nevertheless, the club opted for the experienced coach, tasking him with the challenge of restoring stability and success to the team.
Pacheco replaces Hossam Hassan, the former Egyptian international, and becomes the fourth coach to take the reins in the past two seasons. His recent managerial experience includes spells at Al Shabab in Saudi Arabia and Beijing Guoan in China.

With Zamalek aiming to reclaim their dominance in Egyptian football, the club is hopeful that Pacheco’s leadership and international experience will help steer the team in a more consistent and competitive direction.
