England international Jack Grealish has congratulated Ghana’s Jeffrey Schlupp on his loan switch to Celtic for the rest of the season.
Schlupp joined the Scottish champions on transfer deadline day from Crystal Palace, where his contract is set to expire in the summer.
Grealish took to Instagram to react to Schlupp’s transfer announcement, commenting, “Naaaaa what a combo,” to show his support for his former Premier League counterpart.
Schlupp, 32, opted for Celtic despite interest from English Championship sides Coventry City and Stoke City, according to Football Insider.
The move comes after a quiet season for Schlupp under Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner.
He struggled for game time, failing to start any of the 16 games he featured in this season and recording no goals or assists in 173 minutes across all competitions.
Celtic were active in the January transfer window, notably bringing back former winger Jota from Saudi Arabia and allowing Kyogo Furuhashi to join French side Rennes.
Jota made an immediate impact on his return, scoring in added time during Celtic’s 3-1 win over Motherwell.
Celtic are currently ten points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table and face Dundee FC next as they aim to extend their lead over rivals Rangers.
