The elective general assembly of Africa Sports in Côte d’Ivoire, initially scheduled for this Saturday, has been postponed to a later date. The announcement was made by Bakayoko Capit, the General Manager of the club’s provisional administration, during a media briefing.
Capit explained that the required contribution to participate in the assembly has been reduced to 25,000 CFA francs, but many registrants have not paid the amount. The decision to postpone the assembly was made in consultation with FIFA, Ligue 1 presidents, and other stakeholders. Capit urged those interested to update their payments, and the assembly is now expected to take place before December 15, 2013, which marks the end of the provisional administration’s mandate.
The issue of the club’s new statutes is cited as one of the reasons for the postponement. Capit emphasized the need to move away from practices that have no future, stating that the general assembly is a commitment, not a fair. The new date for the assembly will be communicated to the stakeholders.
