Ivory Coast star Diomande returns to Leipzig amid renewed Real Madrid interest

RB Leipzig have welcomed Ivory Coast winger Yann Diomande back to pre-season training despite growing speculation linking the 19-year-old with a move to Real Madrid.

The Bundesliga club confirmed on Monday that the highly-rated youngster had returned from his post-World Cup break and rejoined his teammates after representing Ivory Coast at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where his performances established him as one of Africa’s brightest emerging talents.

Leipzig shared images of Diomande undergoing medical tests alongside the rest of the squad before the start of pre-season preparations, accompanying the post with the message: “Welcome back, lads!”
