Yaya Touré has once again refused to join the Ivory Coast national team, missing the second matchday of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, where Côte d’Ivoire drew against Sierra Leone. Despite being called up for the upcoming friendly against Morocco, the Manchester City midfielder declined to attend. Full-back Serge Aurier acknowledged Touré’s absence, saying, “We know it’s a big loss… but we have young players who are trying to compensate. For the moment, he’s not here.
