Sidy Diallo, the president of the Ivorian Football Federation, expressed concerns about the attitude of some players in the Ivorian national team ahead of their first leg match against Senegal in the 2014 World Cup play-offs.

In his statements, as reported by Sport-ivoire, Diallo criticized the players, suggesting that they do not take the national team as seriously as they do their respective clubs. He mentioned that their behavior in the national team seems as if they are on vacation.

Diallo did not specify which players he was referring to, leaving it unclear whether he was addressing the entire group or singling out specific individuals. The remarks indicate a level of dissatisfaction with the atmosphere and behavior within the Ivory Coast national team. The situation may be exacerbated by previous incidents, such as the fight between Jean-Jâcques Gosso Gosso and Abdul Razack that occurred in June.

Such public statements from a football federation president can add pressure to the team and may indicate underlying issues within the squad. It remains to be seen how these comments will impact the team’s dynamics and performance in the upcoming World Cup play-off against Senegal.
