Tioté Cheick Gives Back to His Roots with Donation to Former School in Treichville
Ivorian international Cheick Tioté has shown heartfelt generosity by donating school supplies to his former school, Group Avenus 4 in Treichville, during his stay in Côte d’Ivoire for the Africa Cup of Nations 2015 qualifiers.
The Newcastle midfielder, in Abidjan ahead of Côte d’Ivoire’s Group D matches against DR Congo, took time to visit the school that helped shape his early life. The donation, valued at 1.5 million CFA francs (approximately $2,500 USD), consisted of essential school kits aimed at supporting students in need.
“It was a moment of emotion and joy in my old school… May GOD grant me his blessing so that I have the means to offer joy to the students of Ivory Coast,” said Tioté, visibly moved by the visit.
Tioté spent time interacting with both students and teachers before returning to the national team camp.
