IVORY COAST: BOKA AND TIOTÉ BURY THE HATCHET

Harmony has been restored at the Elephant camp after a heated altercation between Arthur Boka and Cheik Tioté earlier in the week. The conflict arose during a training session when the two players almost came to blows while disputing a ball, requiring the intervention of coach Sabri Lamouchi to prevent further escalation.

Following the incident, both players have managed to put the disagreement behind them, emphasizing the competitive spirit within the team. Arthur Boka confirmed the reconciliation, stating, “It’s nothing serious. It was about winning the ball. But these things happen. It shows that we are determined and that we want to do well on both sides.”

The players’ mature response reflects their commitment to maintaining a positive team dynamic as the Ivory Coast national team prepares to face the Lions of Teranga in a crucial match in Abidjan. To add to the positive atmosphere, the Elephants received a visit from Kofi Annan, former Secretary-General of the United Nations, who came to wish them good luck for the upcoming challenges. The presence of such a distinguished figure provided a boost to the team’s morale as they focus on their upcoming match.
