Ivory Coast League: ASEC Tops the Table After 6th Matchday
ASEC Mimosas has taken the lead in the Ivorian Ligue 1 after edging Société Omnisports de l’Armée (SOA) 1-0 on the sixth matchday. The decisive goal came in the 28th minute, courtesy of Ariel d’Avila Ba Loua, propelling Alain Gouaméné’s side to 13 points, level with Africa Sport but ahead on goal difference (+3 vs +2).
Africa Sport, who had been leading the standings, had earlier secured a 1-0 win against ASI Abengourou, with Traoré Lajo scoring the lone goal.
In the final fixture of the day, AFAD dispatched CO Korhogo 2-0, further complicating the latter’s difficult campaign.
