Ivory Coast Football Federation Opens Search for New National Team Coach
Following the resignation of Sabri Lamouchi after Ivory Coast’s early exit from the World Cup against Greece, the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) has officially launched the recruitment process to find his successor.
On Monday, the FIF issued a call for applications, inviting qualified candidates to apply for the head coach position. Applicants are required to demonstrate significant international coaching experience, fluency in French, and possession of a high-level coaching diploma. The deadline for submitting applications is set for July 14.
A specially appointed commission will review all applications, selecting the five strongest candidates to present to the Executive Committee of the FIF. The committee will then make the final appointment.
Among the frontrunners, Hervé Renard currently leads the race, closely followed by renowned coaches Giovanni Trapattoni and Avram Grant. Local supporters have also expressed strong interest in François Zahoui, a former Ivorian international, to take charge of the Elephants.
The federation aims to secure a coach capable of rebuilding the national team and preparing them for future international challenges.
