Led by President Venance Bailly, the FCDDF announced last Saturday in Abidjan the launch of a digital initiative titled “The 2019 Football Fortnight,” under the theme “Didier Drogba, Our Hero.” The platform, accessible at www.didierdrogbaforever.com, officially went live on Tuesday, November 5th. Its immediate goal is to gather petitions endorsing Drogba’s candidacy, while financial contributions collected through the campaign will be used to cover the official deposit for his registration. “This online campaign, supported by financial contributions, will be used to pay the deposit for our hero,” explained Bailly, highlighting the practical dimension of the fan-driven effort.
The FCDDF has set a target of securing at least 1,000 subscribers, a symbolic figure meant to demonstrate the strength and depth of Drogba’s support. According to Bailly, reaching this number will send a clear message about the public backing for the former striker and the potential impact he could have on Ivorian football.

From Europe, former Ivorian international Joss Péhé, a product of the Mimos Sifcom Academy, and player agent and sports consultant Valer Saint-Clair have endorsed the campaign. Valer Saint-Clair urged fans to rally behind Drogba, emphasizing his ability to drive substantial progress in Ivorian football: “With Drogba, Ivorian football will experience tremendous growth. That’s why your initiative is commendable. Help him achieve this noble goal. Look at the presidents who vote. Because Didier can contribute a great deal to our football.” Péhé echoed this sentiment, stating, “Didier Drogba has proven himself in football; he has given us pleasure. This support is a great recognition of his talent.”
Founded in 2015, the Didier Drogba Forever Fan Club champions the leadership, integrity, and vision exemplified by the former Chelsea striker.
