Ivorian youngster Prince Zagadou joins Cercle Bruges on loan

Ivorian youngster Prince Zagadou will spend the 2026–2027 season in Belgium after completing a loan move to Cercle Bruges from Ivorian second-tier club LYS Sassandra.

The 18-year-old winger, who represents the Ivory Coast at U20 level, has joined the Belgian side on a season-long loan agreement that includes an option to buy.

Zagadou’s move to Cercle Bruges represents the latest step in his development and his first experience playing outside Ivory Coast.

The versatile attacker is capable of operating on either wing and can also be deployed in a more advanced position, giving him the flexibility to contribute in different roles across the frontline.

Despite joining Cercle Bruges, Zagadou will initially feature for the club’s reserve team, where he will be expected to adapt to European football and gain valuable experience.

The Ivorian youngster will now look to establish himself within the reserve setup while working towards earning greater opportunities within the club.

Cercle Bruges were impressed by Zagadou’s potential before deciding to bring him to Belgium, with the club’s technical department closely monitoring his development in recent months.

Cercle Bruges Technical Director Luciano Murchio expressed his delight at completing the signing and backed the teenager to continue developing in Belgium.

“We are delighted to welcome Prince to Cercle Bruges. He is an attacking player whom we have been monitoring closely over the last few months and in whom we see a great deal of potential,” Murchio said.

The loan agreement also gives Cercle Bruges the opportunity to make the transfer permanent at the end of the 2026–2027 season should Zagadou impress during his time at the club.

For the Ivory Coast U20 international, the move offers an important opportunity to experience European football, improve his game and take another step towards fulfilling his potential.

Zagadou will now focus on settling into his new environment and making a strong impression with Cercle Bruges’ reserve team during his maiden European campaign.
