Ivorian striker Yan Diomande becomes second-youngest Bundesliga hat-trick scorer

Yan Diomande etched his name into Bundesliga history on Saturday after delivering a blistering second-half hat-trick in RB Leipzig’s 6–0 demolition of Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 19-year-old Ivorian striker struck three times in an 18-minute spell, marking a milestone moment in his rapidly rising career.

Diomande found the net in the 47th, 55th and 65th minutes, sealing his place as the second-youngest player ever to score a Bundesliga hat-trick.

Only Walter Bechtold, who achieved the feat in 1965 at 18 years and 118 days, ranks above him in the league’s record books.

Diomande completed his treble at 19 years and 22 days, underlining the scale of his achievement on Matchday 13.

Wearing a protective mask following a recent broken nose, Diomande’s performance continued an excellent debut season in German football.

The forward now has six league goals, with his hat-trick adding to the momentum he has built since joining Leipzig in July.

Across all competitions, he has amassed seven goals and four assists in 15 appearances, form that has drawn attention from several of Europe’s leading clubs.

Interest in the teenager has reportedly come from Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Barcelona, Tottenham and Liverpool.

Despite the speculation, Diomande remains under contract with RB Leipzig until June 2030, and his market valuation currently stands at €20 million.

He earns an annual salary of €750,000.

RB Leipzig will next face Union Berlin in their 14th Bundesliga fixture. Odds released by bookmaker 1xbet list Leipzig as favourites, offering 1.92 for a win, 3.40 for a draw and 3.30 for a Union Berlin victory.

These figures reflect Leipzig’s strong form heading into the encounter following their emphatic display against Frankfurt.

Diomande’s explosive impact continues to position him as one of the Bundesliga’s brightest young talents.

His record-breaking performance not only strengthens Leipzig’s campaign but also cements his growing reputation across European football.
