Célestin Ecua is on the verge of completing a transfer to Tanzanian champions Young Africans SC, marking a significant step forward in the 23-year-old striker’s career.

Currently with Zoman FC, Ecua is set to leave the Ivorian Ligue 1 after an agreement was reached between the player and the Dar es Salaam-based club.

The centre-forward is expected to travel to Tanzania in the coming days to finalise a two-year deal.

Ecua, who previously featured for ASEC Mimosas, has steadily developed his game over recent seasons.

His performances, particularly during his time with ASEC in the CAF Confederation Cup, drew the attention of Young Africans’ scouting department.

The club has been tracking his progress closely since then, impressed by his attacking movement, physicality, and consistent goal-scoring ability.

While final terms of the contract remain to be confirmed publicly, sources close to the negotiation suggest that all key aspects of the deal have been agreed.

The move is now only pending medical tests and the formal signing of paperwork once Ecua arrives in Tanzania.

Ecua’s potential transfer comes as Young Africans look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, aiming to build on their domestic dominance and make a deeper run in continental competitions.

The club secured the Tanzanian Premier League title last season and is actively reinforcing its squad with talents from across Africa.

The Ivorian forward’s journey through domestic football in Côte d’Ivoire has been marked by steady progress.

After showcasing his talent at ASEC Mimosas, a club renowned for developing young talent, he continued his upward trajectory with Zoman FC.

His strong form, coupled with his performances in continental competition, has now opened the door to a move abroad.

Young Africans’ interest in Ecua has been long-standing, and their persistence in pursuing the striker has finally paid off.

The club sees him as a valuable addition to their attacking options and believes his profile fits perfectly with their ambitions both domestically and on the African stage.

Unless there is a late change in circumstances, Ecua will soon become the latest Ivorian export to the Tanzanian top flight.

His move will also underline the growing trend of East African clubs investing in West African talent to bolster their competitiveness in continental tournaments.

Ecua’s arrival will be watched closely by Young Africans supporters, who have come to expect strong recruitment during the off-season.

Should the deal go through as expected, he will be looking to make an immediate impact and continue his development in a league that is gaining in quality and visibility across the continent.

His departure also represents a loss for the Ivorian Ligue 1, which continues to be a fertile ground for emerging football talent.

However, for Ecua himself, the upcoming move to Tanzania is a clear step forward in his pursuit of a bigger stage and greater challenges.
