Amadou Koné Attracts European Transfer Interest

Ivorian midfielder Amadou Koné is once again attracting attention from across Europe after an impressive first season with Neom SC, less than a year after leaving French side Stade de Reims for Saudi Arabia.

The 21-year-old defensive midfielder joined Neom SC in July 2025 and has quickly established himself as one of the most promising young players in the Saudi Pro League.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, with several European clubs reportedly monitoring his progress ahead of future transfer windows.

According to reports from Sport Pesa, Premier League side Nottingham Forest, newly promoted Sunderland and Italian club AS Roma are among the teams keeping a close watch on the Ivory Coast international’s development.

Despite the growing interest, no formal offers have been submitted for the midfielder. Any potential move could prove complicated given the long-term contract he signed upon his arrival in Saudi Arabia.

Koné remains tied to Neom SC until June 2030, providing the club with a strong position in any future negotiations.

Financial considerations may also present a challenge for interested clubs. Neom SC invested approximately €13.3 million to secure the midfielder’s services from Stade de Reims, and the Saudi club could demand a significant fee should they decide to entertain offers.

Nevertheless, Koné continues to be viewed as an attractive prospect for clubs seeking to invest in young talent. His age, experience and development trajectory have made him a player of interest in several European markets.

Reports have also linked other clubs with the midfielder in recent months. German giants Borussia Dortmund, Turkish side Galatasaray and French outfit RC Strasbourg are all said to be following his progress closely and could potentially enter discussions in the future if the opportunity arises.

Koné’s performances during the current campaign have strengthened his reputation. Across all competitions, he has made 33 appearances, scoring two goals and registering one assist while continuing to develop his game in Saudi Arabia.

His current market value is estimated at €7 million, according to Transfermarkt, although any transfer fee would likely depend on negotiations with Neom SC.

For now, Koné remains focused on his development in Saudi Arabia, but the growing interest from clubs across Europe suggests that his future could become a major talking point in the months ahead.
