Luck Zogbé has signed a two-year contract extension with Stade Brestois, committing his future to the French club until June 30, 2029.
The Ivorian right-back, who joined Brest in 2023, has impressed the club’s hierarchy with his steady development and potential, earning their confidence despite limited first-team appearances.
The contract renewal, announced by the club on Wednesday, marks a significant milestone in the 20-year-old’s young career. Zogbé, who initially signed a deal running until 2027, will now have the opportunity to continue his progression in a familiar environment where he is increasingly seen as a vital part of Brest’s long-term plans.
Since arriving from the youth ranks and breaking into the senior squad, Zogbé has made notable strides. Last season, under the guidance of head coach Éric Roy, he featured in 19 matches across all competitions.
His performance in these outings reflected both maturity and promise, particularly during a full 90-minute appearance in the UEFA Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain, despite the team suffering a heavy 7-0 defeat.
That performance, while challenging, showcased Zogbé’s resilience and ability to compete at the highest level, attributes that have not gone unnoticed by club officials and national selectors alike.
His consistent effort and work ethic have also earned him a call-up to the Ivorian national team, where he made his debut during the international break in June.
Zogbé’s journey at Brest has been marked by steady growth. Despite being part of a competitive squad, he has managed to carve out meaningful minutes on the pitch.
His versatility at right-back, combined with his pace and defensive awareness, has positioned him as one of the most promising young talents at the club.
The extension is a clear vote of confidence from Brest’s management, who view the Ivorian international as an important asset in their project to build a team capable of sustained success in Ligue 1 and beyond.
With the club aiming to cement its place in the top half of the table and push for European competition, young players like Zogbé are expected to play a pivotal role.
For Zogbé, the new deal represents not only security but also a platform to continue his ascent in professional football.
His objective for the coming season is to establish himself as a regular starter in Roy’s defensive setup and build on the international recognition he has begun to receive.
As Brest prepares for another demanding Ligue 1 campaign, the presence of a determined and rapidly improving player like Zogbé offers both stability and excitement for supporters.
With five years now remaining on his contract, the Ivorian right-back will be looking to continue proving his worth, solidify his role within the squad, and contribute meaningfully to the club’s ambitions in France and Europe.
