Stade Brestois 29 has confirmed the long-term extension of promising left-back Luck Zogbé, with the Ivorian defender signing a new deal that ties him to the Ligue 1 club until the summer of 2029.
The 20-year-old, a product of the club’s academy, has rapidly risen through the ranks since signing his first professional contract in 2023.
His performances on the left flank, marked by defensive composure and attacking intent, have earned him a regular place in the first team and admiration from the club’s fanbase and coaching staff alike.
Zogbé, who hails from Vieil Ousrou in southern Ivory Coast, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the club’s continued faith in him following the announcement.
Speaking he said: “I’m very happy to continue my adventure with Stade Brestois. It’s a club that has given me everything since I was little. I still have a lot to learn, but I feel that here, I’m in the best conditions to progress.”
Previously under contract until 2027, the new two-year extension reflects Brest’s strategy of securing its emerging talent amid increasing competition in the French top flight.
It also signals the club’s ambition to build a sustainable, youthful core capable of competing at the highest level in Ligue 1.
Since making his debut with the senior side, Zogbé has stood out not only for his technical ability but also for his maturity and tactical understanding, attributes that have impressed both coaches and scouts.
His consistent development has seen him become a valuable asset, not just in terms of performance but also market value, with Transfermarkt estimating his worth at €2.5 million.
Financially, the young defender earns approximately €100,000 annually (equivalent to 65 million FCFA), translating to a weekly wage of €1,923 (about 1.25 million FCFA).
The move comes at a crucial time as Stade Brestois continues to shape its squad for the upcoming season.
By locking in Zogbé’s services for the long term, the club reinforces its commitment to nurturing homegrown talent and maintaining stability within the squad.
As the new campaign approaches, all eyes will be on Zogbé to see if he can further elevate his game and fulfil the growing expectations surrounding his future in the red and white of Brest.
