Ivorian defender Ghislain Konan ruled out for eight weeks with knee ligament injury
Ivory Coast international Ghislain Konan is expected to spend around eight weeks on the sidelines after sustaining a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury during training last week.
The Wolves left-back reportedly damaged the ligament in his knee during a training session, forcing him to miss the club’s 1-0 victory over Watford on Matchday 12 of the English Championship.
Following scans, the rock-solid defender has been diagnosed with knee damages and is expected to be sidelined for approximately two months.
The injury comes as a setback for Konan, who joined the English club during the summer transfer window and will now have to wait before returning to competitive football.
Despite the disappointing news, the Ivorian has been spared surgery, offering some relief as he begins his recovery. He is expected to undergo a rehabilitation programme to help him regain fitness before being cleared to return to action.
Konan’s absence will leave Wolves without an option at left-back for several weeks, forcing the club to explore alternatives while he works towards his comeback.
The English side will hope the 30-year-old makes a smooth recovery and returns to full fitness as soon as possible.
