Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has provided an update on Bukayo Saka’s injury as his team enters a crucial stage of the season.
According to the manager, the talented forward is in the early stages of his rehabilitation and is nowhere close to making a return to action.
“It’s still early. He’s in early stage of rehab and we have to wait,” Arteta told the press ahead of Arsenal’s clash against Leicester City on Saturday.
Bukayo Saka has been out injured since December 2024 when he suffered a setback during an encounter against Crystal Palace.
The England attacker with Nigerian heritage was expected to be back in action this month but the progress of recovery does not like it will be possible.
Mikel Arteta is now left with just Leandro Trossard, Raheem Sterling, and Ethan Nwaneri as attacking options.
With Arsenal pushing to clinch the English Premier League title at the end of the season, Saka’s absence is a big blow for the team. The manager must come up with a plan to fill the void while keeping his team competitive for upcoming games.
Saka is also set to miss the upcoming games of the Three Lions of England in the March international break.
