Italian football authorities have issued several sanctions following controversial incidents during recent matches. Juventus Turin was fined €25,000 for displaying banners mocking a tragic plane crash that occurred in 1949, resulting in the deaths of 18 Torino players and others. AS Roma received a €50,000 fine after their supporters attempted to break stadium doors and fired rockets at opposing fans during a match against Sampdoria. Additionally, Fiorentina’s Borja Valero and coach Vincenzo Montella received suspensions for their involvement in a scuffle during a match against Parma, while Parma player Gianni Munari received a one-match suspension. Montella was also sanctioned for making insulting remarks to a match official. Roma’s appeal against a previous sanction was rejected, resulting in the club playing their next match against Inter Milan in a partially empty stadium.
