Italian outfit AS Roma intensify pursuit of English-Ghanaian forward Tyrique George

AS Roma have intensified their pursuit of England-born Ghanaian forward Tyrique George in the ongoing summer transfer window.

George, who has both Ghanaian and Nigerian heritage, is regarded as one of the most promising young wingers to emerge from Chelsea’s youth system.

The 19-year-old attacker has become a subject of interest for several clubs across Europe, having showcased glimpses of good performances at Chelsea.

Known for his technical ability and flair, the talented attacker is seeking for first-team opportunity this season and could consider a move away from Chelsea this summer.

However, the Italian giants, who consider George as an alternative to Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho has stepped up in their pursuit of the forward.

Roma sports chief Ricky Massara has already arrived in London for talks over several transfer targets including the Ghanaian marksman.

The young winger has been offered to Roma by his agent, with Roma expressing firm interest, though Chelsea’s €20m asking price is proving too steep.

For Roma, the addition of a highly rated talent such as George would represent both a short-term reinforcement and a long-term investment.
