Italian defender of Nigerian descent, Michael Kayode, has expressed his delight after signing for Brentford in a permanent deal.
After an exciting first six months in west London on loan from Fiorentina, the 20-year-old has now extended his stay at the club until at least 2030.
“Michael Kayode has signed a five-year deal with Brentford, with the club having an option to extend his contract by an additional 12 months,” Brentford announced on its website.
Speaking after signing his permanent deal, Michael Kayode shared his delight and stressed that he cannot wait for more action next season.
“I am so excited to extend my stay at Brentford. I have felt so welcome from the first day I arrived at the club, thanks to my team-mates and the care the coaching staff have shown me.
“I’ve wanted to play in the Premier League since I was a child and it’s been so good to do that here. “I can’t wait for more next season and beyond,” he said.
Kayode is expected to play a key role for Brentford not just next season but throughout his time at the club.
