Italian giants Inter Milan set to make improved offer to sign Nigeria attacker Ademola Lookman
Inter Milan are preparing an improved offer for the acquisition of Nigeria international Ademola Lookman in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old, who is set for a permanent departure this summer has attracted significant interest in Europe, with Inter Milan and Napoli expressing keen interest in the Atalanta star.
However, Lookman is solely focused on joining Inter Milan this summer, turning down an offer worth €5 million per year from fellow Serie A club Napoli.
Despite reaching an agreement with Lookman on personal terms, the Italian club has yet to meet Atalanta’s asking price for his signing. The Nigeria international has agreed a five-year contract with a salary of €4.5 million that could rise to €5 million with bonuses.
According to reports, Inter Milan intends to send an improved offer for Lookman after Atalanta rejected a €40 million bid. Negotiations between the two clubs are expected to resume on Monday.
Inter’s initial offer for Lookman was a loan with an obligation to buy, while Atalanta insisted on a final sale for €50 million.
For the record, the 27-year-old Lookman played 40 club matches during the 2024/25 season, scoring 20 goals and providing 7 assists.
Lookman joined the club in August 2022 and has since established himself as a key member of the team, playing an instrumental role in the club’s UEFA Europa League success in the 2023/24 season.
