It is tough, but I am embracing it – Antoine Semenyo after high-flying start at Man City
Ghana international Antoine Semenyo is steadily settling into life at Manchester City following his high-profile move from AFC Bournemouth during the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old forward made an immediate impact, scoring the decisive goal in City’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday.
Reflecting on his contribution, Semenyo described the strike as, “Definitely [his most important goal for City ]. Every game is important, happy for the win, but still a lot of games to go, so we just need to keep going. All we can do is win our games.”
Semenyo also spoke about adjusting to the demands of playing at the highest level.
“It’s a lot – you dream to play at this level. It’s obviously tough, but I’m embracing it.
“It’s pretty different, I’m usually just a wide man, but I’m adapting – and I’m just doing whatever I can for the team,” he added.
So far this season, Semenyo has tallied 14 goals and four assists in 27 Premier League appearances. He will look to maintain his strong form when Manchester City welcome Nottingham Forest to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
