Burkina Faso captain Issoufou Dayo has opened up about his recent struggles with injury and his determination to return to top form. The central defender, currently playing for Renaissance Sportive de Berkane, faced a challenging period in the last month due to a minor injury that kept him off the field for two weeks. Despite these setbacks, Dayo has made a successful comeback and is now contributing significantly to his team’s ongoing success.

In an interview with a Burkinabe media outlet, Dayo shared his reflections on the recent difficulties he faced.

“The last month has not been easy for me,” he admitted, acknowledging the toll the injury took on both his physical and mental state.

“A small injury kept me away from the field for at least two weeks, and the recovery was difficult.

I had to work hard and also serve the country for the last days of the AFCON qualifiers,” he continued, highlighting the added pressure of international duty during his recovery period.

Despite the challenges, Dayo’s resilience has seen him return to form with impressive performances for Berkane.

The veteran defender has been a key part of the team’s strong run of results, and he is happy to contribute to their current success.

“We are in a good phase at the moment with Berkane, and I am happy to contribute to that with good performances,” Dayo said, reflecting on the team’s positive momentum.

As he regains his full fitness, the Burkinabe international is focused on maintaining his strong performances.

“I am feeling good at the moment and am getting back into good shape,” he said, expressing his optimism for the future. Dayo’s ambition remains high, and he is determined to keep pushing forward.

“I really hope to keep this momentum going, and that with Berkane, we will continue to string together victories.”

Looking ahead, Dayo’s commitment to both his club and country remains unwavering.

With his leadership on and off the field, the experienced defender is poised to continue playing an important role in both Berkane’s domestic and international campaigns.
