Issiar Dia in Advanced Talks for Ligue 1 Return with Gazélec Ajaccio
Senegalese forward Issiar Dia could be on his way back to French football, with newly promoted Gazélec Ajaccio in advanced discussions to secure his signature, according to France Football.
The 28-year-old striker, who began his professional career in France with AS Nancy-Lorraine, has been playing for Lekhwiya SC in Qatar since 2012. Dia originally left France in 2010 to join Fenerbahçe in Türkiye, where he spent two seasons before moving to the Middle East.
A potential deal with Gazélec Ajaccio would mark a return to Ligue 1 for the experienced attacker, who brings with him a wealth of international and club-level experience. Known for his pace and direct play, Dia could offer valuable firepower to a Gazélec side looking to secure its top-flight status in its debut Ligue 1 campaign.
While the agreement is not yet finalised, negotiations are reportedly at an advanced stage, and a deal could be completed in the coming days.
