Issa Kabore commits future to Wrexham after impressive loan spell

Wrexham have completed the permanent signing of Issa Kabore after several days of negotiations, with the Burkina Faso international agreeing a three-year contract at the club.

The 25-year-old right-back returns to the Racecourse Ground following a successful loan spell last season. Wrexham confirmed the deal on social media, bringing Kabore’s six-year association with Manchester City to an end.

Kabore joined Manchester City six years ago but did not make a competitive first-team appearance for the club. His return to Wrexham gives him the opportunity to continue his development in a familiar environment after playing an important role in the team’s campaign last season.

The defender featured in 32 matches in all competitions and was particularly influential in the attacking phase of the game. He provided eight assists in the Championship, the highest total recorded by any Wrexham player in the competition.

Those performances persuaded Wrexham’s hierarchy to exercise the option to make his transfer permanent. The Welsh club had been in negotiations for several days before reaching an agreement, completing a deal that allows Kabore to remain at the Racecourse Ground for the next three seasons.

Kabore returns to Wrexham with renewed ambition and says he remains highly motivated as he begins the next stage of his career in English football. The Burkina Faso international also outlined his objectives in an interview with 226foot.

The move provides Kabore with greater stability after a period in which he remained on Manchester City’s books without making a senior competitive appearance for the club. At Wrexham, he has already established himself as an important member of the squad and produced the most assists in the team during his previous Championship campaign.

The player, who was born in Bobo-Dioulasso, is currently valued at four million euros.

Wrexham’s next fixture will come in the third round of the Championship, when they face Birmingham. The match is scheduled to take place shortly, with Wrexham looking to build on the momentum generated by Kabore’s permanent return.

Betting company 1xBet has listed Wrexham as the marginal favourites for the match. Its prices are 2.35 for a Wrexham victory, 3.30 for a draw and 2.85 for a Birmingham win.

Kabore’s permanent arrival represents an important step for both player and club. Wrexham have secured the services of a right-back who already knows the squad, the stadium and the demands of the Championship, while the player now has a settled base from which to pursue his ambitions in English football.
