The president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Issa Hayatou, is set to attend the opening of the 2012 Cecafa Tusker Challenge Cup. The announcement was made by the spokesperson for the Ugandan Football Federation (FUFA). Hayatou is expected to witness one of the first matches of the competition, specifically the match between Uganda and Kenya scheduled for November 24.
Accompanying Issa Hayatou will be Hicham El Amrani, the general secretary of CAF, and other members of the institution’s Executive Committee, including Mohamed Raouraoua, Constant Omari, and Ngangue Appolinaire. In addition to attending matches, Issa Hayatou is anticipated to participate in the CECAFA congress scheduled for November 23, which adds to the significance of his presence at the regional football event.
