Ismaily SC’s road to recovery begins after official meeting
Ismaily Sporting Club is setting out on a path to recovery following the suspension of its previous board due to financial and administrative irregularities.
At a friendly, official session on Saturday, Ismailia Governor Akram Galal met with the newly-appointed interim committee led by Dr. Tarek Rashid Rahmi to discuss the club’s pressing challenges.
Rahmi, alongside Ibrahim Fares and Ali Hussein Al-Aswad, outlined plans to revive the club, with Governor Galal assuring full provincial support: “I trust you can steer Ismaily to safety. You have the backing of all local authorities, and Ismaily deserves to return as a source of joy for its loyal fans.” New members and sports officials joined the meeting, emphasizing a unified spirit.
Ismaily faces a severe financial crisis, with overdue player wages leading to FIFA and CAS sanctions. Efforts are underway to gather funds, pay debts, and lift registration bans before the January transfer window.
Club captain Mohamed Ammar urged his teammates to “turn the page” and “fight for victories to please our supporters.” As the team prepares for its next league match, there is renewed hope for Ismaily’s survival and a return to its proud tradition.
