Ismaily SC sink to bottom of the Egyptian Premier League after late defeat in Cairo
Ismaily’s struggles deepened on Wednesday as they slipped to the bottom of the Egyptian Premier League following a narrow 1-0 defeat against Enppi at Petro Sport Stadium in Cairo.
The visitors battled hard but were undone late when Ahmed El Agouz converted a penalty in the 80th minute to hand Enppi the win. It was another painful night for the Ismaily faithful, who have now seen their side fall to four straight defeats without finding the net.
The loss left Ismaily with just four points from eight games under Algerian coach Miloud Hamdi, a return that has placed them in 21st and last position. Their attack has been a major concern, with only one goal scored all season and none in the last four matches.
Enppi, guided by Hamza El Gamal, celebrated their resilience as they climbed to 13 points and moved into fourth spot. They have been beaten only once this season, by Ceramica Cleopatra, and look set to challenge the league’s leading pack with steady performances.
